We've been training for a few months for our first European Backroads bike trip by riding our bikes in the Portola Valley and Woodside hills. Other Backroads trips we've taken: Quebec and the Eastern Townships, Canadian Rockies-Banff-Jasper, Bryce and Zion, Blue Ridge Mountains-Monticello-Charlottesville, VA.
The trip will start at the Franca train station in Barcelona, and take us for six days through the semi-autonomous region of Catalonia into the Spanish Pyrenees and to the Costa Brava coast.
Supershuttle picks us up at 3:15am for our flight to Atlanta. Yawn. Avg temp in Atlanta: 107ยบF. Then another 8 hrs to Barcelona.
